My article is finally done! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I was initially having an issue with figuring out how to get my article body text to stand out from the background, but I think putting an opaque box behind and text and editing the background photo slightly was a good solution. I also bumped up some of the red and yellow levels on the background photo to make it a little more eye-catching. Then all that was left to do was find just the right font, and I think the one I chose works well with the piece. Overall, I think this looks very much like a typical article one might see in a travel magazine, or Midwest Living magazine, which is what I was trying to emulate.
The background image is great and flawlessly captures the Third Ward of Milwaukee! The lighting is perfect for the industrial setting, not too dark but not too light. Typeface is elegant and suggests class. The only change I would suggest would be to adjust the opacity of the background of the text. Much of the spread image still shows through which makes it difficult to read when you reach the railing and other dark parts of the photo. Overall, what a great spread!
ReplyDeleteI like your final result as well, and the way the article is written is very appealing. I mean you vary the sentence structure and word use in a good way, however where is the end of the sentence at the end of the article? (just wondering where the rest of the story is or is it due to technical difficulties on my end?)Otherwise really is eye-catching and appealing1
